2. Scope of this policy
This policy covers the processing of personal data in connection with the use of the Firm’s website and with contact initiated via the contact details published on it. The processing of data in the course of providing legal services is governed by separate information provided to clients at the outset of an engagement; such data are additionally protected by the professional secrecy of Polish advocates and attorneys-at-law.
3. What data we process, for what purposes and on what legal basis
– Correspondence and telephone contact: the sender’s identification and contact details and the content of the correspondence — to handle the enquiry and further communication; the legal basis is the Firm’s legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where the contact is aimed at concluding a contract, steps taken prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
– Server logs: IP address, date and time of the request, browser identifier — to ensure the security and proper functioning of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are retained for 30 days.
– Visit statistics: the website uses Google Analytics. Usage data are processed only after consent has been given in the cookie settings (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); consent may be withdrawn at any time in the same settings, available on the website.
Providing data is voluntary; in the case of correspondence, however, it is necessary in order to reply.
4. Cookies
The website does not use marketing, advertising or profiling cookies. Only cookies that are technically necessary for the proper display of the website may be used (e.g. remembering the selected language version). For this reason the website does not require cookie consent.
5. Recipients of data
Data may be entrusted to providers of website hosting, e-mail and IT support services engaged by the Firm — under data processing agreements and only to the extent necessary to provide those services. In this regard, the Law Firm uses the services of Areda (areda.pl) and OVH Cloud (ovh.pl). Data are not sold or shared for marketing purposes.
6. Transfers outside the EEA
If a hosting or e-mail provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer takes place exclusively under the mechanisms provided for in the GDPR (an adequacy decision, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or standard contractual clauses).
7. Retention periods
– Correspondence: for the duration of handling the matter and thereafter for the period necessary to establish, pursue or defend legal claims.
– Server logs: for the period indicated in section 3.
– Aggregated statistics: indefinitely, as data that do not permit the identification of individuals.
8. Rights of data subjects
You have the right of access to your data and the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability (to the extent applicable) and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. The exercise of certain rights may be limited by the professional secrecy of advocates and attorneys-at-law, which is absolute to the extent provided by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (PUODO, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw); you may also contact the supervisory authority of your habitual residence.
9. Automated decision-making
The Firm does not take decisions concerning data subjects based solely on automated processing, including profiling.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the law or in the configuration of the website. The current version, with its effective date, is always available on the website.
